Diploma and Graduation

Your "Diploma Name" should  include punctuation exactly as you would like your name to appear on your printed diploma. Include accent marks (placed immediately above the letter it should accent), periods (.) and commas (,) where applicable.   Example: John S. Smith, Jr.

Note:  Replacement Diplomas can be ordered from the Office of the University Registrar (ASB, Room 200A, Busch Campus).  A payment of $20 must accompany the request. The request for a replacement diploma takes six to eight weeks to process. To download a DIPLOMA REPLACEMENT REQUEST FORM, click here.

Students indicating they will not be attending the Commencement Ceremony (in Absentia) and would like their diploma mailed must complete and fax or mail this form.

Dimploma Application and Degree Certification

It is the responsibility of each prospective graduate to discharge all academic and financial obligations to the university and to request a final review and certification of his or her academic record by the faculty of the college, preparatory to graduation. Degree candidates do so by following the procedure outlined in the following list.
  1. Ascertain whether all degree requirements have been satisfied.
  2. Complete the Diploma Application.
  3. Submit the Diploma Application and preapproved Senior Review to their college's advising office.
Approved departmental candidates are presented to the Faculty Senate for final certification. Students having problems in meeting graduation requirements are notified by the Office of the Dean. Degree candidates seeking a minor must file for minor field certification along with the Notice of Degree Candidacy.

Candidates must file for degree certification in accordance with the following dates:

Failure to meet one of the above dates requires the resubmission of the Notice of Degree Candidacy in the next period. The faculty will not act to certify a degree candidacy unless the prospective graduate has filed a Notice of Degree Candidacy form.
