EJB/SPPP – UMDNJ SPH CROSS REGISTRATION
PROCEDURES FOR THE MPH PROGRAM
Policy
The Edward J. Bloustein
School of Planning and Public Policy offers a joint Master of Public Health
program with the School
of Public Health
at UMDNJ.Students in this program are enrolled at
UMDNJ/SPH and may take courses at Rutgers without tuition or regular student
fee assessment at Rutgers, or any unusual permission requirements not required
of other Rutgers students.
Procedure
{Note: these procedures
pertain only to UMDNJ/SPH at Piscataway.SPH
at Newark students use a different
procedure and register through the Rutgers Newark
Registrar.}
Rutgers, New
Brunswick, to UMDNJ, Piscataway
{See
procedures under Rutgers, New
Brunswick/UMDNJ Cross Registration.}
UMDNJ/SPH to Rutgers
The
registrar at the School of Public Health will notify the Registrar for
the EJBSPPP of the Rutgers courses and index numbers requested by students
at SPH. In addition, sufficient demographic
data to create a student record on the Student Record Data Base will be
provided, including SSN, dob, gender, address, email address, and NJ residency
status. The EJB registrar will create a record on the SRDB and register
the student for the course(s) requested.
Students
will be coded 34:10:832. The registrar
will enter a special/location code and sar billing code of MD. The billing
code will exclude these students from billing. The bill payment indicator
will be set at Y, and the telephone access override code will be set to
N, thus blocking students from drop/add online or registration in future
semesters online without going through the SPH registrar first.
If
the student already has an RUID on the SRDB from a former admission and
has a visa code on the GD screen, the registrar will change the visa code
to XX.
The
student will be sent an email informing h/her of h/her RUID and providing
information about how to create a net ID, provide emergency contact information,
and secure a Rutgers ID card if needed.A copy of
this email will be sent to the SPH registrar.
Transmission
of Grades
Students
will appear on rosters and will be graded normally.Transcripts
will be sent to the SPH registrar at the end of the semester.
Authorization
The
policy dates from the creation of the MPH program. These
procedures were agreed upon by the Dean of EJBSPP, Rutgers Treasurer, and
Registrar of UMDNJ/SPH in 2007.
