Graduation Information

For New Brunswick Undergraduate Students

All New Brunswick undergraduate students who anticipate finishing degree requirements within the coming year MUST apply for graduation by completing the "Undergraduate Diploma Application" Form. This form MUST either be completed online, or return a hardcopy (necessary if your name contains accent marks) to the Registrar’s Office by the deadline dates listed below.

To complete the appropriate Undergraduate Diploma Application, click one of the following choices:

Online Diploma Application - only for current students, according to the following schedule:
        January applicants may apply online........September 1 thru December 1
        May applicants may apply online..............December 15 thru March 15 (New Deadline!)
        October applicants may apply online.........February 16 thru August 1

Undergraduate Diploma Application - hard copy application for former students and/or students
whose names contain accent marks or umlauts

Commencement information (schedule and invitations) will be sent to you by your college. Please check your college website by clicking on your college name (above), or contact your Dean's Office with specific questions.

If you attend Schools 07, 11 and 14 and will not attend the May Commencement Ceremony, and you want your diploma mailed to you via the U.S. Postal Service, please complete the Diploma Mailing Request Form found at: http://registrar.rutgers.edu/NB/MAILDIPL.HTM.

If you are attending the May Commencement Ceremony, but are in Schools 01, 02, 06, 12, or 61 -- your diplomas will not be distributed at Commencement and will be mailed to all graduates in late-June or July to the Permanent Address listed for graduates in our database as of June 1, 2008. Therefore, if your address changes after commencement, please be sure to update it at: https://rutadmin.rutges.edu/addupdt before June 1st or the mailing label will be incorrect..
If you would like to pick-up your diploma in person at our Busch Campus office, please complete the Diploma Mailing Request Form to avoid having your diploma mailed (http://registrar.rutgers.edu/NB/MAILDIPL.HTM).

Please mail/fax (732-445-4238) all Mailing Request Forms to the Undergraduate Registrar's Office, ASB, Room 200B, 65 Davidson Road, Busch Campus, Piscataway, NJ  08854-8096. (The University is not responsible for any loss or damage that may occur in transit via U.S. Postal Service.)

Degrees are conferred by the university upon recommendation of the faculty.  Degree Verification of October and January degrees will be available from the Office of the Registrar in the form of an Official Transcript (Online Request at: https://transcripts.rutgers.edu/transcripts/studentTranscriptGateway.login) or a Certificate of Graduation (request in writing to the Undergraduate Registrar's Office -- include name, ruid, college and date of graduation).

Diplomas and Official Transcripts will be withheld from all students whose financial accounts and debts (including tuition, housing, parking, and library) are not cleared.
