Q: How do I calculate my cumulative
GPA?
A: To calculate your cumulative GPA
you would do the following:
- Replace each grade with its numerical equivalent as
shown here (for undergrad)
(A=4.0; B+=3.5; B=3.0; C+=2.5;
C=2.0; D=1.0; F=0.0).
- Next you would multiply the Grade received for a course
(numerical equivalent) by the Credits for that course. This will give you the Grade Points for
each course.
- Then you would add up all of the Grade Points that
you just calculated to get your Total Grade Points.
- Next you would add all of your Total Credits (that
is, add the credits for each course to get a total.)
- Finally, you would divide your Total Grade Points by
your Total Credits to get your cumulative GPA.
(Note: Credits with "N" prefix do not calculate into the cumulative
GPA. Courses taken at other institutions other than through the Exchange
Program with NJIT and UMDNJ are also not calculated into the cumulative GPA.)
