FIRST TIME ON-LINE GRADING SYSTEM USER

In order to successfully access your REGIS roster, you must have an account & password established on one of the following Rutgers systems: CRAB (Camden), RCI (New Brunswick) or ANDROMEDA (Newark).  Faculty and Staff members of the university who do not have an account please refer to information on how to create one on the Office of Instructional Technology (OIT) website.  Users who have forgotten NetIDs/passwords or may have been faced with any problems when setting an account, please refer to the OIT page for help from the local Computing Services help desk. 

The Office of the Registrar is also available to provide training for new faculty and staff members who want to become familiar with this on-line application.

Note: The browser of choice is Internet Explorer 6.0 although Netscape 7.x or greater may also be used.

GENERAL INFORMATION

When accessing REGIS rosters faculty and instructors will have the opportunity to:
General timing for viewing REGIS rosters on-line for specific terms are as follows:

October - Spring Rosters will be available.
February - Summer Session Rosters for all sections will be available.
March - Fall Rosters will be available.
November - Winter Session Rosters will be available.

ACCESSING REGIS ROSTERS

To LOGIN to the REGIS:

   1.Proceed to  https://sims.rutgers.edu/rosters/
   2.Enter NetID (This is your username on Andromeda, Crab or RCI)
   3.Enter your password for your Andromeda/Crab/RCI email account; click LOGIN.*

* If you are unable to log in, please call your department Chair or Administrator for granting of privileges.

4. Enter course information exactly.
(Select Term/Year : Unit : Subject : Course : Section)

5. Click the "RETRIEVE ROSTER" button to display your roster.

Note: During designated dates to enter "Warning" or "Final" grades the REGIS system will present an open box in the "Warning" or "Grade" column to faculty members assigned the role of Grader for the specific course.  The faculty member assigned as the Grader for the course is required to submit grades for each student through this REGIS on-line grading application.

To enter "Warning" grades

Note: When entering "Warning" grades the acceptable 2 character designations are defined as follows:

     a. W1 – Warning for poor academic performance
     b. W2 – Warning for poor course attendance
     c. W3 – Warning for both poor attendance and performance

(Note: If a “W” is listed in the GRADE Column, the student has officially withdrawn from the specified course.)

6. When all "W" grades have been entered, click SUBMIT ROSTER.
(Note: Once the roster is submitted, changes cannot be made through the REGIS system.  Students who were not given the "Warning" through the REGIS application must be notified directly by the faculty member.)

To enter "Final" grades

Provided below is an outline of the grading convention used by the various schools of the Rutgers-Newark campus.

T - (Temporary) Grades of TB+, TB, TC+, TC, TD, & TF are used for all temporary grades.

X - (Examination Not Taken) - Assigned only when the instructor believes a student might have passed the course, had the final examination had been taken.  TX may also be used if the instructor and student have agreed on a make-up exam.

IN - (Incomplete) grade, converts to a "F" grade at the end of two terms (NCAS & UC ONLY).

RD, RF - Re-examination permitted.

TZ - The grade of TZ should only be assigned when a student cannot complete coursework due to a certifiable emergency. Grade will convert to a "F" grade within the end of the following term.

P or NC - (Pass/No Credit) If a student had registered the course and indicated upon registration that the course is taken as a Pass/NoCredit course in accordance with the the policy governing this grade option, the following grades are used.
    PA grade is be applied if the student passed the course. (equivalent to grades A, B+, B, C+, C & C)
    NC grade is applied if the student failed the course. (equivalent to grades D & F)

TNC - (Temporary No Credit) If a student registered under the above option the instructor may assign the grade of TNC if the student is has not completed the course requirements due to extenuating circumstances and an agreement between instructor and student has been made allowing the delayed completion of the course requirements.

6. When all final grades have been entered, click SUBMIT ROSTER.
(Note: Once the roster is submitted, changes cannot be made through the REGIS system.  A Change of Grade form must be processed and submitted to the department Chair who will then approve or deny the change and submit it to the Office of the Registrar-Newark for recording.)

Other conditions that may apply:

Adding Students:
If there are students in a class whose names are not listed, then please carefully add their names, student ID number and the grade they earned in the lines provided below the last listed student's name on the electronic grade roster.

Uncertain of student's status: If names are listed and you are unsure of the student's status, then please leave their grade spaces blank.  It would also be helpful to add a comment in the "COMMENTS" column and indicate whether the student has stopped or did not attend.
